All times listed are unofficial. The NFL will release the official results in the near future.

OXFORD, Miss. – A total of 48 scouts from 31 NFL teams converged at the Manning Center on Monday morning to see former Rebel football players put on an athleticism showcase with the hope of bolstering their professional stock.

The four Rebels that worked out at the NFL Combine were all present (Evan Engram, Quincy Adeboyejo, D.J. Jones, Fadol Brown) were joined by nearly 20 other former teammates that didn’t get the opportunity to shine in front of the scouts in Indianapolis.… Read more...

Breeland Speaks, Ole Miss Defense Getting Physical this Spring

Rebels Increase Energy, Physicality on Defense

OXFORD, Miss. – The difficulties of the Ole Miss defense were well-documented in 2016, and this spring the Rebels have been on a mission to improve in all facets of defensive play.

The mission, according to head coach Hugh Freeze, is being accomplished.

Defensively you’ve got to hold people to field goals (in the red zone). With the offenses in today’s football, they’re going to get down there. You’ve got to hold them to field goals.”

The defense dominated the scripted portion of the Rebels’ red-zone scrimmage on Tuesday.… Read more...

Longo liking his talent at quarterback and tight end

For sophomore quarterback Shea Patterson, everything is starting to click.

With eight spring practices in the books, the Ole Miss quarterback is starting to understand just how dangerous he can be in this new Rebel scheme, and that’s making new offensive coordinator Phil Longo happy.

“He’s where I’d want him to be at practice No. 8,” Longo said of Patterson. “He’s a gifted passer, and we all know how mobile he is. We’ve got to do a good job at utilizing both of those things.… Read more...
