Luke Recaps Win Over Vanderbilt, Previews Matchup with No. 24 LSU

Ole Miss Football Head Coach Matt Luke met with the media Monday to recap the win over Vanderbilt, and preview Saturday’s contest with No. 24 LSU (6:15 p.m., ESPN).


Opening Statement…
“After reviewing the tape I was really excited. Anytime you get an SEC win, it’s a good thing. Watching the tape, it was the obvious. I’m really pleased with our balance offensively and I thought that really helped. Defensively, I really liked our energy — (we had) seven sacks, and they got some turnovers. So I’m really pleased with that.”

Ole Miss Hosts Vanderbilt on Saturday

Oxford – A dip in temperature gifted Ole Miss with crisp, cool practice conditions on Wednesday, something the team savored while aware it is only temporary as the weather is supposed to get hotter as Saturday approaches.

“It was really hot yesterday and cooler today,” head coach Matt Luke said. “I think it is going to be hot again on Saturday. It is going to be a big deal on Saturday it being hotter than it has been for a couple games. I think our depth will be key.”

Ole Miss and New York Jets Great Larry Grantham Passes Away

Won Two Sugar Bowls as a Rebel and a Super Bowl with the Jets

OXFORD, Miss. – Ole Miss and the State of Mississippi lost another sports legend Saturday, June 17, 2017, with the passing of football star Larry Grantham, 78, who was also a member of the Super Bowl III champion New York Jets.
Stringer Funeral Home in Crystal Springs, Mississippi, is in charge of the service, which will be held Wednesday, June 21, at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Crystal Springs. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. at Stringer Funeral Home.
Grantham played linebacker and end for legendary Ole Miss coach John Vaught from 1957-1959, earning three letters, and helped lead the Rebels to a 28-4-1 record, including Sugar Bowl victories over Texas and LSU and a win over Florida in the Gator Bowl.… Read more...
